What your name, man? Alexander Hamilton.

First off, I want to thank Disney for making Hamilton: A Musical available to anyone
with Disney Plus. To be quite honest, up til now I had never seen the musical, had only
heard the soundtrack. I know the words to every song and can hit almost every note.
Key word: almost. I've played it so much that my brothers set up a collective groan
when I start to just hum an opening line.
Just so we are clear, my fandom was born between waves. Hamilton:A Musical was based off a biography of Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow.
For young readers who are not ready for that meaty book, there is Alexander Hamilton by
Teri Kanfield and The Alex and Eliza trilogy by Melissa De La Cruz For short story lovers, we got For the Love of Liberty :Hamilton’s Heart by
Mercy Madison. For novel lovers, there is My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura
Kamoie and I, Eliza Hamilton by Susan Holloway Scott. You may have noticed that the
fiction seems to focus on Alexander's wife, Eliza. Personally, I think it's because she
is often overlooked by many historians and that makes her a person of interest to writers.
Plus, she was a pretty incredible woman. I hope you all get the chance to read one of these books. Also, if you haven't seen
Hamilton yet, please do. I don't think you will regret it. As always feel free to leave
comments below.
