LB2 and I did it! We dyed some shirts and other fabric. I will put the photos below.
These are some before and during the dyeing and drying process pictures. I also included a picture of us getting our mulberry pigment. Yes, we used mulberries and turmeric powder for our two dyes.
We tried to tie-dye some shirts but the end result was way too pastel to be satisfying. We will try again. End result pictures below. (Sidenote: The picture of the purple shirt didn't come out well so I won't include it).
This journey is still ongoing so keep posted. I'll tell you what happens next. As always, feel free to leave me a message below.
I adore a good romance but I also enjoy a titillating mystery. I want to share them with you. Below are some of the shows I've watched and loved. Enjoy!
Café Minamdang
Nam Han-Jun (Seo In-Guk) is a former criminal profiler, who now works as a fraudster. For his scams, he disguises himself as a fortune teller and runs the fortune teller shop Minamdang. He attracts customers with his attractive physical appearance and smooth talking skills. He scams his customers for money, but he also gets involved in their cases and helps solve them. He even provides customer service for his clients. Nam Han-Jun's partners are Su-Cheol and Nam Hye-Jun. Su-Cheol runs a private detective agency and Nam Hye-Jun is Nam Han-Jun’s younger sister. She is an elite hacker.
Han Jae-Hui (Oh Yeon-Seo) has worked as a detective for 3 years. She is enthusiastic about her job and tries to follow a righteous path. Somehow, Han Jae-Hui gets involved with Nam Han-Jun.
Just finished this one! Oh, it is gooood. The start is a little slow but you got to trust the process. Our beloved fake shaman is such a diva, he makes the show. The reveal of the murderer left me shook. Still trying to wrap my head around it.
When the Phone Rings
Paik Sa-Eon (Yoo Yeon-Seok) comes from a prestigious political family and he became the youngest presidential spokesman in Korea. His background also includes time spent as a war correspondent, hostage negotiator, and main anchorman. He married Hong Hee-Joo (Chae Soo-Bin) 3 years ago. She is the daughter of a newspaper proprietor. She has mutism due to an accident she had when she was little. She works as a sign language interpreter in court and on television. Paik Sa-Eon & Hong Hee-Joo got married largely due to convenience. For the past 3 years, they haven't communicated with each other or have meals together. They pretend they are a happily married couple. One day, Hong Hee-Joo is kidnapped by an unidentified person. This changes their marriage life.
One of the k dramas I got my mom to watch. We loved it. The push and pull, twist and turns will leave you at the edge of your seat, eager to solve what is actually happening in front of you. It will suck you in in the first episode.
The Trunk
Noh In-Ji (Seo Hyun-Jin) works for contract marriage provider NM. The company provides its clients with a spouse for a fixed-term 1 year contract marriage. Noh In-Ji has finished her 4th contract marriage. She meets Han Jeong-Won (Gong Yoo) for her 5th contract marriage. Han Jeong-Won works as a music producer. His life is filled with anxiety and loneliness due to the pain from his past. He still badly misses his ex-wife Seo-Yeon, who applied for the spouse providing company NM for him. Han Jeong-Won meets Noh In-Ji from NM and he begins his second marriage with her. They get to know each other and used to each other as time passes. One day, a mysterious trunk is recovered from a lake. This leads them into a whirlwind of secrets behind the NM company.
Another one I got my mom to watch. You will fall for this couple. You will be rooting for them and hoping they get out of this tangled web. I think my mom became a Gong Yoo fan.....
Behind Your Touch
Bong Ye-Bun (Han Ji-Min) works as a veterinarian in the peaceful and crime free rural village of Mujin. She also possesses a psychometry superpower. When she touches the rear end of a person or animal, she is able to see into their past. She is a warm hearted person who is meddlesome. While she is experimenting how far her powers can go, she gets involved with Detective Moon Jang-Yeol (Lee Min-Ki). Moon Jang-Yeol was a hotshot detective on the violent crime investigation team in Seoul, but he was demoted to the small police station in Mujin. He struggles to get back to the police department in Seoul. To obtain his transfer, he uses Bong Ye-Bun’s special psychometry superpower. They work together on small cases in Mujin, but a serial murder case suddenly takes place.
Meanwhile, Kim Seon-Woo (Suho), who suddenly appeared at Mujin, works part-time at a convenience store in the village. He has a naive and tender smile, while he treats other people with kindness. But, he is also a mysterious figure.
Bet you can't guess who the killer is. There is a mix of just about anything you need in this show but knowing who the killer is will not be one of them.
Naked Fireman
Kang Chul-Soo (Lee Jun-Hyuk) is an enthusiastic fireman. He poses as a nude model to make money for his sick friend. He is then targeted as the criminal of an arson-murder case that took place 10 years. Kang Chul-Soo and mysterious heiress Han Jin-A (Jung In-Sun) try to find the real culprit.
It has an unfortunate name. Thankfully, there are no actual naked people in here. It sadly only has 4 episodes. I wanted, nay, need more.
Vincenzo
At the age of 8, Park Joo-Hyeong went to Italy after he was adopted. He is now an adult and has the name of Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-Ki). He is a lawyer, who works for the Mafia as a consigliere. Because of a war between mafia groups, he flees to South Korea. In South Korea, he gets involved with Lawyer Hong Cha-Young (Jeon Yeo-Bin). She is the type of attorney who will do anything to win a case. Vincenzo Cassano falls in love with her. He also achieves social justice by his own way.
I have tried to get my Dad to watch it but failed. LB7 loves this show to the point of trying to copy his style. He also has bragging rights of calling the villain. The little twerp.
Mad for Each Other
No Whi-Oh (Jung Woo) works as a detective. He thinks that he has a pretty decent life. One day, an incident takes place. This causes No Whi-Oh's life to change. He becomes a crazy guy, unable to control his anger and he gets angry at everything. He tries to return to former self, but, during this time, he gets involved with another crazy person, Lee Min-Kyung (Oh Yeon-Seo). She has a sophisticated appearance and a fine job, but something happens to her. Her ordinary life collapses and she doesn't trust anyone anymore. She has delusions and is compulsive. No Whi-Oh and Lee Min-Kyung become attracted to each other.
The beginning is what got me. That was a awful day for a meet-cute. This show is good on many different levels.
Not Others
Kim Eun-Mi (Jeon Hye-Jin) became a single mother when she was a high school student. She raised her daughter Jin-Hee by herself. Now, Kim Eun-Mi is in her 40's and she lives with her 29-year-old daughter Kim Jin-Hee (Sooyoung). Kim Eun-Mi works as a physical therapist and Kim Jin-Hee works as a police officer at the Namchon Police Substation. Kim Jin-Hee bickers with her mother over everything, but they have a strong family bond. One day, a mysterious man Park Jin-Hong (Ahn Jae-Wook) appears in front of Kim Eun-Mi. He works as a doctor. Meanwhile, Eun Jae-Won (Park Sung-Hoon) gets demoted to the Namchon Police Substation. He doesn't get along with Kim Jin-Hee at all.
Part police procedural, Part Romance, Part Ode to Mother/Daughter bond. I laughed, I cried, I sat on the edge of my seat. I am going to peddle this to my mom one of these days. I can't find a trailer with English subtitles.
Flower of Evil
Cha Ji-Won (Moon Chae-Won) is a detective. She is married to Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi) and they a daughter. Baek Hee-Sung seems like a committed husband and father, but he hides his cruel past and lives under another person's identity. He deceives his wife completely. Cha Ji-Won learns of his deception and chases his past.
Just started this show and let me tell you, it already looks phenomenal. I can't wait to watch more!
I hope you can enjoy one of the shows. As always, feel free to leave me a message below.
I know I'm late. So sorry about that. Anyway, JJ won last Saturday and I am happy for him. I felt like he might win but there were other songs that were in the finals that also felt like the could win.
I've put JJ's song, Wasted Love, below.
I hope you enjoyed that. As always, feel free to leave me a message below.
P.S. Today's post is so short because I am trying to multitask right now.
A few months ago, I introduced a family member (who refuses to be named in any way shape or form) to some of my favorite book sites. I left it at that as I can't see the future. Not only did this family member create an account with one of the sites, she even got everything from an author she found and started reading a 40-book multi-author series. She keeps getting books she realizes she missed. Her current reads are in the Romance genre.
Now, I will never laugh at her for her newfound reading habits. All I can do is nod in a knowing way as I manage my book library. All the times she and my siblings laughed at me and asked if I really needed all those books, now look. Hello pot, I'm kettle.
When it comes to the Romance genre, I have read a round. I found my comfy spot in Contemporary, Historical, and Fantasy/Sci-Fi with the occasional mystery both in the Mainstream and Christian book world. I also hang out in the YA world quite often. It's a nice reset from the heaviness of the regular world. So, what I am getting at is, there will be no judgement here. I have met a lot of different stories on my book journey. Your book companions will not be judged here. Unless you're Harem Romance. Then I will judge you without prejudice. Like how greedy can you be?
It's that time of year again! This year 37 countries are competing. I can hardly wait to see who will win. So, without further ado, let's begin!
❤ - means I love this song

1. Abor & Tynna - Baller - Germany - A bouncy pop song that is way too easy to bop to. Super easy to to.slip this into a workout or dance playlist.❤
2. ADONXS - Kiss Kiss Goodbye - Czechia - Can't wait to see the choreo that the contemporary dancers out there come come up with for this one. It feels epically beautiful. I always want to dance when I hear this song.❤🏆
3. Emmy - Laika Party - Ireland - Another danceable song. Can totally see this playing in a club or at a party. Sidenote: I also wish that Soviet dog had a better ending.❤
4. Erika Vikman - Ich Komme - Finland - If you don't see the performance, it's just a pop-rock song with some very catchy bits. The performance for this song makes it just a little bit .....extra. This is a child friendly space so fill in the blanks yourself.
5. Gabry Ponte - Tutta C'Italia - San Marino - Thank you for finally sending something decent this year. I actually like this song. It's danceable and makes no weird side quests.❤
6. Go-Jo - Milkshake Man - Australia - I don't like it. I've heard a lot a people love and enjoy his apparently "tongue-in-cheekiness" but this song makes me think about a bad "Stranger Danger" PSA from the 80's. That is the vibe I get. It gives me the ick.
7.JJ - Wasted Love - Austria - This song is so stunning. I adore it. The high notes, the strings! This song has so much atmosphere.❤🏆
8. Justyna Steczkowska -Gaja - Poland - Pronounced "Gaia", this song has a tribal feel.
9. KAJ - Bara Bada Basta - Sweden - It's a fun song about saunas. It is catchy and a bit weird.❤
10. Katarsis - Tavo akys - Lithuania - This is the rock music you would've played in your Grunge/Emo phase. Somehow got stuck on repeat....❤
11. Klavdia - Asteromáta - Greece - Beautiful! She ate and left no crumbs.❤🏆
12. Klemen - How much time do we have left - Slovenia - The performance for this song is understated but gorgeous. This always gets me choked up. It deserves to go far.❤🏆
13. Kyle Alessandro - Lighter - Norway - So danceable! Kyle's vocals fit this song perfectly. Also stuck on repeat.❤🏆
14. Laura Thorn - La Poupée monte le son - Luxembourg - Irritatingly catchy.
15. Louane - Maman - France - I would give this song a standing ovation but I am writing so ......❤🏆
16. Lucio Corsi - Volevo Essere Un Duro - Italy - This is giving me " Beatles " vibes.
17. Mamagama - Run with U - Azerbaijan - If you didn't dance to this song just a little bit, I'm going to question your taste. Very danceable. Another one that is stuck on repeat.❤
18. Mariam Shengelia - Freedom - Georgia - Cinematic feel with a slight old-school style. Beautiful.
19. Marko Bošnjak - Poison Cake - Croatia - A catchy little song about revenge. Note to self : Don't Eat Random Cakes!
20. Melody - Esa Diva - Spain - It is giving "Telanovela Song Remix", the good kind.❤
21. Miriana Conte - Serving - Malta - The first version of this song raised a lot of English speaking eyebrows. Look that up on your own. The second version is just as good though.❤
22. NAPA - Deslocado - Portugal - This song is like a much needed reset. I feel like this one can easily slip into the " Main Character " playlist. I want to listen to this song as I stare at the water or out a plane window.❤🏆
23. Claude - C'est la vie - Netherlands - This song is an earworm in the best way. I want to dance but my knees hurt. 😭❤
24. Nina Size - Dobrodošli - Montenegro - Category: Dark Cinematic. So gorgeous!❤
25. Parg - Survivor - Armenia - Workout playlist for Cardio day. That is where I would put this song.

27. Red Sebastian - Strobe Lights - Belgium - Club Song. This song is totally here to party!
28. Remember Monday - What the hell just happened? - United Kingdom - Queen meets Fifth Harmony while dressed in Bridgerton-esq costumes. That's what just happened.🏆
29. Shkodra Elektronike - Zjerm - Albania - I don't know why I like it. I just do. It is a song that is way too easy to find yourself swaying to.❤
30. Sissal - Hallucination - Denmark - Dance Party Ready! It makes you want get up and dance the day's stress away.❤🏆
31. Tautumeitas - But man laimi - Latvia - Don't you want to go adventuring in the wilderness with this song playing in the background? That's how this song makes me feel.
32. Theo Evan - Shh - Cyprus - Another Club Banger. Just dance already.....
33. Tommy Cash - Espresso Macchiato - This corny, wacky song is actually one of my favorites. It is off-the-wall quirky. It's just fun for no reason whatsoever.❤
34. Væb - Róa - Iceland - It's a fun catchy song. So bouncy.
35. Yuval Raphael - New Day Will Rise - Israel - Big Cinema sound. Beautiful.
36. Ziferblat - Bird of Pray - Ukraine - This song almost defies description. You might be able to slip this song into your "Main Character" playlist? I don't know what to say about it. There are parts of this song raised I love more than others. I guess you can say I have mixed feelings about it.
37. Zoë Më - Voyage - Switzerland - Beautiful, Stunning, Entrancing. I adore this song. It makes me tear up and want to dance all at once. By the way, don't do that unless you want to get hurt.❤🏆
That's it, folks. The first Semi-finals is on May 13th, the second Semi-finals is on May 15th with the Finals on May 17th. I hope you all are ready. Here's a little something I bet will make you smile.
Yes, I know I procrastinated. Life got hectic and then I got lazy. At least, I got this posted before the first Semi-finals. As always, feel free to leave me a message below.
This is just a few of the films I am.looking forward to seeing this year. I am hoping to get around to actually watching it some time this year. I got movie in my TBW list from several years back. I kinda pick and choose what to watch based on my mood.
First up is The Accountant 2. I watched the first one with my Dad so I think I will watch the second one with him as well. It has Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and J. K. Simmons all reprising their roles. It has already been released so I'm sure I will watch soon. Maybe.
Nonnas looks like it will be a heartwarming comedy. It has been a while since I saw a trailer that made me go "Aww, this looks fun. I think I will like it". I think I might remember to watch it. Look, books will always distract me from most other forms of media. So, no judgement okay? I do want to watch Nonnas.
I saw the trailer for this movie and instantly thought " Yes, I need to see this too!" The Roses is a remake of the 1989 film based off of a 1981 novel. I might have seen the movie on tv at some point but I honestly don't remember.
Now You See Me: Now You Don't is the the much anticipated third movie in the Now You See Me franchise. I have been waiting for years for this film. I do hope it doesn't flop.
Two other films I am looking forward to don't have trailers yet. They are Wake Up Dead Man and Zootopia 2. Wake Up Dead Man is the third film in the Knives Out Franchise. The movies are a family favorite. We love a good mystery on screen. Zootopia 2 is a film I never expected to come out. I'm eager to see it as I loved the first film. Yes, it is an animated film. So what?
As always, feel free to leave me a message below. Let me know about a movie I should watch.
Our Wifi is currently down so I am a day late.😭 Sorry. I don't know how long it will be down so please bear with me.
In other news, LB3 decided he should give One Tree Hill a try. He got to a part when a main cast member dies in the series (sorry, not sorry for the mild spoiler) and had a total freakout. He came to those of of who had watched it already and was practically crying. "Why didn't you tell me?" he kept asking us. I couldn't help it and laughed. I told him I was so sorry for him when he started OTH. He just ignored me.
Any way, he decided to take a break from OTH and watch The O.C. instead. When I told our Mom, she laughed. It's a bit of a frying pan/fire issue. The O.C. will leave you just as traumatized if not more. I think I should prepare him some tissues.
