Earlier today I was reading something and it made me think. The author was talking about how hard the COVID-19 lockdown was on him and his wife. It suddenly dawned on me that as far as interacting with strangers outside my home, lockdown didn't bother me.
On a normal day, I mainly interact with my family, neighbors, and their pets. Going to the store was the biggest highlight of my week. One could say that my pre-COVID life was just prep for the actual COVID lockdown. The only things that truly made it real were the shortages, the constant wipe downs of packages, and the death tolls. That is the parts that will never leave me. The staying inside and only interacting with my household? That didn't even register.
So, am I weird because of that? I don't know. Yeah, life in 2020 was (as my beloved cousin Elle says) cancelled but we survived it. Life continues. Why are we still making a big deal about it?
As always, feel free to leave a message below.
