So, no Eurovision?!?!?

Yeah, so thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak there will be no Eurovision 2020. Which is really sucky because there are sooooo many wonderful singers this year. For instance, Austria's Vincent Bueno has a epic mega jam with his song "Alive". Sweden's The Mamas gave a riveting performance of their song "Move".  Greece's Stefania's song "Supergirl" was totally awesome. And these are Just Three of this year's contestants. Sadly, we will never know who is this year's favorite.  Below is what Wikipedia told me about sad nonhappening:

Impacts of the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic and cancellation

In 2020, the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from China to other countries around the world raised concerns and the potential impact over staging the Eurovision Song Contest. On 6 March NPO, the Dutch broadcaster, stated "Eurovision organisers would follow the advice of health authorities in deciding what form the event, due to be held on 12–16 May, would take." In March, authorities in Denmark urged the cancellation of events with more than 1,000 spectators to limit the spread of the virus. This resulted in the Danish national final being held with no live audience. Representatives from Sweden, Finland, Israel, Switzerland, Italy and Greece pulled out of the Heads of Delegation meeting on 9 March. Jon Ola Sand attended the meeting remotely after a travel restriction was placed on EBU staff until 13 March after an employee contracted the virus. Eden Alene, the Israeli representative, revealed that she would not travel to the Netherlands to film her postcard as a precaution to COVID-19. The broadcaster noted they would try to find another way to film her postcard. The Lithuanian representatives The Roop also cancelled both the travel plans to film their postcard and their participation in pre-contest parties in London and Amsterdam. The Bulgarian representative Victoria also cancelled her participation in pre-contest parties in London and Amsterdam.
On 13 March Eurovision-Spain, organisers of the pre-party planned for 10–11 April in Madrid, announced that it would be postponed due to threats of the virus until further notice. On the same day, the organisers of Israel Calling, a pre-party planned in Tel Aviv, announced that it would be cancelled. On 16 March, the organisers of Eurovision in Concert, a pre-party planned in Amsterdam, announced that it would be cancelled. On the same day, the organisers of the pre-party London Eurovision Party announced that it would be postponed due to threats of the virus until further notice.
It was ultimately decided that the contest itself would be cancelled as a result of the pandemic, which was announced on 18 March 2020. The reference group for the contest explored the option of letting the acts selected for the 2020 contest instead take part in the following year. It decided on 20 March 2020 that, in accordance with the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest, the 2020 songs would not be eligible to compete in the 2021 contest and would instead be honoured in a non-competitive manner. The BBC has planned to broadcast a replacement for the contest. Eurovision: Come Together will feature the planned Eurovision 2020 entries and interviews with would-be participants, as well as highlights of the show's 65-year history. Host broadcaster AVROTROS is likely to fill the empty broadcasting blocks resulting from the cancellation with past editions of the Eurovision Song Contest, already existing Eurovision specials of programmes, and a documentary on how the Netherlands overcame their four-decade win gap at the contest. The EBU and the host broadcasters are working on a Europe-wide replacement show called Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, which is scheduled to be broadcast live on 16 May 2020, the date the contest's final was planned to take place.
The Ahoy Arena itself, with all major gatherings in the Netherlands being prohibited, now serves as a temporary care facility, due to a nationwide shortage of hospital beds.

At least the arena is being put to a good use. As much as I want to gripe and complain about this year's cancellation, I can't. Stay safe people.

Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 4

As we endure yet an another week of self-imposed quarantine (there is no other word for it), I thought that the final volume (for now) of my Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video series would be cool. You know, so you can take your mind off things for a bit. So, without further ado, Let's Jam!

1. Flyleaf - Sorrow

This Christian Rock group is one of my Faves. Haters are totally not allowed. And this Video...... is the perfect catalyst scene. Does she get out in time? What on earth possessed her to attempt such a dangerous trick? Total mini- movie.

2.   TobyMac - Feel It ft. Mr. TalkBox

This should be a mini-movie and I don't care what anyone says. Feel free to jam with Toby.

3. Mark Schultz - I Have Been There

This would be one of those awesome movies where you don't see how they all tie in together til the very end.

4. for KING & COUNTRY - Without You (feat. Courtney)

You know that really sad movie that also manages to uplift you? Yeah, this is that mini-movie, I mean, music video. Try not to cry too much. Need to save that tissue.

5. BarlowGirl - Beautiful Ending

Beautiful. That is the only word I can find to describe this video. It is perfection in and of itself. The perfect mini-movie. Feel free to sing along.

6. MercyMe - Almost Home

Sweet, Touching, and Powerful. That is this video.

7. Mark Schultz - Everything To Me

OMG, I'm tring not to sob but this song and this video get me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Heart-wrenching mini movie, this is it.

8.  tobyMac - Gone

BACKSTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I want from this video.

9. Tauren Wells - Citizen of Heaven

I am still trying to figure this one out but it is very good, so there is that.

10. Matthew West - Strong Enough

Yet another video where it would be so cool to see how they all tie in together.

Well, folks that it for now. Fell totally free to leave a comment below.

Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 3

I hope everyone is that is reading this is doing okay despite this current Covid-19 pandemic. If you aren't, then I hope I am a pleasant distraction for you. But, this is not what this post is about! This post is about Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 3. I am honestly looking for more videos but it seems to me that Christian labels don't like to send that type of money on a video that could use it. Some of these videos (as you may or may not notice) barely make the cut. I wish more would. Anyway, here's volume 3.

1. for KING & COUNTRY – joy.

Did you ever long for a Christian take on the movie Anchorman? Look no further, 'cause for KING & COUNTRY has got you covered. It is fun, cute, and uplifting.

2. Britt Nicole - Gold

This is a 3:04 movie on loving yourself and others for teens with a really catchy pop beat. I know you are bopping your head. It's okay. I am too.

3. Group 1 Crew - Live It Up

This feel good song is, in fact, a christian song.  I totally see the beginning as the perfect opener for a movie, don't you?

4. TobyMac - Love Broke Thru

This is such a powerful video that would make an equally powerful movie. And the end, I was choked up. I tell you no lie.

5. Reliant K -  Who I Am Hates Who I've Been

This fun video would've made an awesome comedy film. Alas, we have yet to have one of this caliber. I suggest we just rock out to the music instead.

6. MercyMe - So Long Self

I bet they had soooo much fun making this video. Yet another comedy we have been deprived of. Oh, well. Let's just jam.

7. Group 1 Crew - Forgive Me

More, More, More!!!!!!! I really want a backstory here along with a satisfying conclusion. this feels so unfinished to me. Like we could go so much further, much deeper, you know? Also double feature, y'all!

8.  Mark Schultz - Letters From War

Do try not to cry too much. This very emotional video would make an absolute tear-jerker of a movie. Mark Schultz never ceases to make me cry.

9. Danny Gokey - Haven't Seen It Yet

This tale of the prodigal daughter should totally be a movie. No question. Don't you get warm fuzzies at the end.

10. Mat Kearney - Closer to Love

Backstory! That is what is needed here. Also, I would love to have friends that would do that for me.

And that conclude Volume 3. Fell free to leave comments, questions or suggestions below. Ciao!

Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 2

And, I'm back with the second volume in Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video series. I hope you enjoyed volume one and are ready to jump in to the second.

1. Stacie Orrico - I Could Be The One

The Christian Teen movie set to a jammin' beat! It's like a sequel to "Stuck".

2. Jeremy Camp - Walk By Faith

This is that scene in the movie where we all start crying as the elderly widow packs up her beloved husband's belongings. It's okay to sob.

3. Casting Crowns - American Dream

Does this feel like it would be an awesome movie to you? I think that the character development would be so much fun.

4. Lecrae - I'll Find You (ft. Tori Kelly)

I won't shame you for crying. I'm choked up right now. But yeah, final scene in a real heartbreaker of a movie.

5. Tobymac - Lose My Soul

Tobymac is in charge of the coolest pawn shop in town. There should be so much backstory here. But I will have to content myself with this video.

6. Tobymac - Irene

Tobymac double feature! This makes me think of a artsy film about a single mom in a barrio who is trying to get the deadbeat dad to step up and be a father. But that could just be me.

7. For King and Country - Shoulders

If this was a movie, IT. WOULD. BE. INCREDIBLE. Also, the way those brothers harmonize make me wish that my own brothers could do the same. Mine have a sound and it's called loud.

8. For King and Country - The Proof of Your Love

This is a dystopian novel turned music video. I seriously love this video. The fact that the song is awesome just adds to it all.

9. The Afters - Light Up the Sky

This would a great story of how three lives tie into each other and how they build each other up in the midst of their personal crisis' . I would watch it.

10.  Skillet - Not Gonna Die (Lyric Video)

I don't know how any one could hate this lyric video. Out of all the videos I've seen, Skillet is the only one that turned their video into a pure masterpiece. Sit back and enjoy.

And that concludes Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 2.  If you have comments or suggestions, please feel free to leave them below. There, that didn't sound desperate or needy at all. Not that I am. I'm not.

Christian Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 1

This is the Christian music version of my previous series. There may not be as many videos that are film quality but there are a few that you just know would make a totally awesome movie. So without further ado, let's do this!

1. Casting Crowns - Slow Fade

I dare you to not get choked up as you watch this video. It's just so incredibly powerful. And when she sings at the end........

2. Danny Gokey - Hope In Front Of Me

A Powerful song needs an equally powerful video. And here it is. Sing along at the top of your lungs.

3. For King and Country - Burn the Ships

Joel Smallbone is actually an actor too, so that just makes this period-piece of a video that much cooler.

4. Brandon Heath - Give Me Your Eyes

So, Yeah we be jammin' ova heya! On a more serious note, I can see this as a stellar Dramedy, heavy on the drama.

5.David Crowder*Band - Foreverandever Etc...

I will now have this chorus stuck in my head forever and ever and ever...... AHHHHHH! I'm still waiting for it to be continued. Who wins, Humans or the Squirrels?

6.Stacie Orrico - Stuck

Every christian girl of a certain age knows this song. They have sung it loud. Now, you will too.

7. Jeremy Camp - Tonight

This is the coolest hotel ever. Instead of crazy people killing you, cool singing dudes help save you. Feel free to start dancing at any point.

8.John Reuben - Nuisance (feat. Matthew Thiessen)

I adore this song on so many levels. Doesn't it make you think of The Office, only waaaaaaaaaaay more fun? That was just me wasn't it? Ok, this is now awkward.

9.GAWVI - Fight for Me

How can anyone not love this video? Backstory, Please!!!!

10. Superchic[k] - We Live

Another "how are these people all connected" film right here. Details, people, details.

Well, that is all for this week. If you have any suggestions and/or snarky comments, feel free to leave the below.

Grocery Time!

As we (as in me) speak, I am putting away our mound of groceries.  It never ceases to amaze me how much food we eat in a week. I don't want to imagine how much we eat in a year. <shudder>

I am now done. For those who want to know, this is a weekly event. People in the store tell us that they want to come to our house all the time when they see our cart(s). Then we tell them how large our family is and they just nod, wide-eyed, and say "so, this is for the week, huh?" to which we nod, sigh, and push said cart(s) like an endurance athlete in training. I have great upper arm strength.

That is it for now, folks. Feel free to leave a comment below.

Oh so breakable...... that's what glass is

In the space of three days, my family has broken four glasses. I am about to submit a formal petition to switch to all plastic. It will be so much better on our nerves.  On another note, my internet is acting blinky. It's enough to make you want to pull your hair out. That is why this post will be short. Til next time, folks!
