Ruelle

Margaret Eckford (born November 21, 1985), better known by her stage name Ruelle, is an American electropop singer-songwriter.Her music has been used on television series such as the opening theme songs of Dynasties (Game of Survival), Shadowhunters (This Is the Hunt), and The Shannara Chronicles (Until We Go Down).


 Born the middle child of three sisters, Eckford grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended a private Christian high school. She attended music school in Sydney, Australia. Ruelle is now based in Nashville, Tennessee. She adopted the French word "Ruelle" as her stage name because she liked how it gave off a sense of darkness and mystery, and how it has multiple meanings, including "chamber" and "wolf".

Vincent Bueno

Vincent Mendoza Bueno (born 10 December 1985) is an Austrian singer of Filipino descent. Both his parents are of Ilocano origin. Along with his native German language, Vincent can speak English and conversational Tagalog.
 Bueno started dancing at the age of 4. He later graduated in music and performing arts at the Vienna Conservatory of Music. Bueno is also a composer of R&B music, having taken special courses in acting, dancing, and singing. At age 11, he managed to play 4 musical instruments—piano, guitar, drums, and bass guitar. His father was a former vocalist and a 1970 local band lead guitarist.

He was Austria's ESC 2020 contestant but since that got cancelled, we will be seeing him perform in 2021. Consider this your sneak-peek. And yes, he is pretty darn good.

Blas Canto

 Blas was born on October 26, 1991, to a family of Nicaraguan emigrants. He also has partial Mexican descent. He rose to prominence as a member of the Spanish band Auryn. In 2017, he embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album Complicado was released in September 2018.

I discovered this incredible man earlier this year as Spain's Representative in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Sadly, ESC 2020 was canceled and Senor Canto wasn't able to show the world how awesome he is, this year anyway. Spain has opted to send him as their Rep for ESC 2021. We got a whole year to soak up his music.

Why I love to read

This is a question I have really never tried to answer before so bear with me.

I love to read because I can lose (and/or find) myself in another time and/or place. I can learn, I can grow, I can experience a piece of life that I otherwise wouldn't have a chance to. I journey with each character as they grow and learn to be their best (or worst) selves. I learn how to get into their mind, see how they tick, figure out what makes them go. I can figure the puzzles, see through that intricate web the author has made and sometimes, if it's a really good one, I may just wrap myself inside and wait til the end to come out. Sometimes I find a connection with a character that is almost visceral.

For as long as I can remember, curling up with a story has been a way to relax, find comfort, or even forget. It's my ticket to new and exciting places. Even when the story is over and I have long since put the book down, I find that I still have a piece with me. In my mind there is a memory of a story that will float to the surface and make me laugh or sigh, sometimes at the most inopportune moments.

My love for books is a well-known fact in my family. So well known that they tend to pick up free books sometimes to bring them to me. My love for reading has overtime turned into another love, Writing. It is something that is bone-deep and inescapable. It is part of what this whole blog is about. And I hope that someone, somewhere gets what I am saying because deep down inside them, they feel it to.

Movies about Trains

As I am stuck inside my house, I thought it would be cool to watch movies that involved traveling (you know, live through and all that). So below are my absolute Faves!

Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, and Rosario Dawson is a movie where the only villian is incompetence and a runaway train. Frank Barnes has been working for 28 years for AVVR as an Engineer about to lose his job and half his pension . Will Colson is a probationary conductor who is having some trouble at home. The two try to stop a runaway train. The scene with the Stanton curve is nerve-racking and totally awesome all at the same time. Soooo earned their paycheck that day. Based on a true story.

Murder on the Orient Express starring Kenneth Branagh, Leslie Odom, Jr., Johnny Depp, Penelope Crúz, Michelle Pfeiffer, and more. If  you love Agatha Christie and stunning cinematography, then this is for you. In 1934, Hercule Poirot (Branagh) is on his way to Cadíz from Constantinople, when a friend helps him get the last free spot on the Orient Express. Shortly after they leave, the rails get blocked by snow in an avalanche. While checking on the status of the passengers the next morning, they find one (Depp) dead. Poirot wants nothing to do with solving the case (he's on vacation, sooo.....) But his bff convinces him to look into it. All in all, a great whodunnit that made me want to ride on the Orient Express. Just with people who don't want to kill me.

The Commuter starring Liam Neeson, Vera Farmiga, and Patrick Wilson. What would you do  for $25,000? Michael MacCauley (Neeson) is having a sucky day. He just lost his job, he needs an extension on his mortgage and he's trying to find a way to tell his wife. On the Commuter train home, a woman named Joanna (Farmiga) asks him a "hypothetical" question. Do this one thing and you get a reward. Find a person named Prinn. You don't get to know what happens next. Your reward is 25 grand hidden in the bathroom. Michael finds the money and soon realizes that he is stuck in a very deadly game.
