Can You Keep A Secret? movie review

As some may or may not know, I was totally and completely psyched about Sophie Kinsella's Can you keep a secret? being turned into a movie. Can you keep a secret? was the first novel of hers that I read so I was expecting great things here.

First things first, these are the things I loved. The cast is awesome. Alexandra Daddario did great as our Emma.

Tyler Hoechlin plays Jack. Yes, folks. We get to stare at his face for over an hour. I am not complaining.

The Soundtrack was solid. Whoever was in charge of wardrobe needs to come into my life. And, they filmed in NYC, People!

The only problem here is the script. They cut out Emma's parents and cousin. While I get that they were trying to save time, I couldn't help feeling that they got rid of one of the key plot points. It's Emma's insecurities with her family that is one of her biggest secrets. Also we never see the company picnic. That Picnic is a major turning point in the novel. It's a shame they wrote that out.

All in all, I did enjoy this film and I will probably watch it a few hundred times. But, I just got to say it, Folks. The book was better.

Feel free to agree or disagree below.

Dilly Court, Isaiah,Dami Im and Jessica Mauboy

Hi All! I Have recently finished four books by the author Dilly Court, A Mother's Courage, A Mother's Secret, A Mother's Wish, and The Best of Sisters. I should note that they are all set during the Victorian Era.

A Mother's Courage is about a young widow determined to not lose custody of her two children to her cruel in-laws. Along the way she makes friends, some enemies, and finds love.

A Mother's Secret tells a dual tale of a half Indian girl born out of wedlock and her mother. Shortly after birth, they are separated. This tale is about how they are reunited, move forward together as a family and find love.

A Mother's Wish is about yet another widow dealing with a cruel In-law. After her brother is sent away, she and her boy are abused by her father-in-law and his employees. She runs away with her child, falls in with Carnies, and sets off on a quest to find her brother with her half Romany friend. Along the way she too falls in love.

The Best of Sisters is about a young orphan whose brother is forced to leave to New Zealand. her uncle 's cruelty leads her leave. She is taken in by a kind childless couple and befriends a fake doctor.  In the end, She too find love. Are you seeing a trend here?

Here are three songs I think you will love.
