Jittery mess.......

Just got the news that my family and I have to move by next month. Consider this advanced notice of my impending sporadic posts. I have no clue what we will do and am feeling like an anxious mess. We are a big family on a fixed income in a small town with rising prices.

Will we get through this? Yes. I'm just nervous. I don't like big, unexpected, potentially life altering changes. Not my thing. Gradual life changes. Can do. Ones like this leave me feel like I need to play catch up and that I'm inadequate.

I calmed down by day two, woke up and started preparing my room for all the packing. The others are doing the same. Some of the kids have never experienced a move so this is a novel experience for them. Lucky them.

So, in short, I may not post as punctually. As always, feel free to leave me a message below.

Update: We worked out a "deal". I feel like it was all a way to force a rent increase. But what can we do?🤷 Such is life.

Stormy nights.....

I will be super brief as a storm is blowing into our area. It has been super stormy at night lately. Thankfully, no tornado sirens have gone off in area but the lightning has been very intense.

LS2 is very scared of lightning, so as a good sister, I let her huddle next to me. Watching her jump each and every time she saw lightning was painful to watch.

I'm ending our post here as we tend to shut off the internet and other big electronics (i.e. tv, computers, ect.) during big storms. It helps to protect them from getting fried in a potential power surge. Surge protectors only do so much you know. They keep the electronics on until you can shut them down properly. If you don't shut down properly, you will fry it. That is their purpose. Sorry for the mini rant. I just heard someone talk about surge protectors like they were an unnecessary thing to have. You are welcome for that life hack, btw.

As always, feel free to leave me a message below.

P.S. I was talking from experience. I once fried a DVD player as it was playing my Dad's favorite movie. I wasn't allowed to touch our new one for a whole month.  And it took me a few years to get the DVD out as I had gotten it stuck inside.

Destiny Redeemed by Vanessa Rhoswen : Review

Yes, this review is 2 weeks late. I was living my life and forgot to post it. Sorry. Here you are, better late than never.

The game has changed, but the stakes remain deadly...

Lady Ilyana D'Arcane thought she could outmaneuver fate, but the past refuses to stay buried. Newly divorced and determined to forge her own path, Ilyana builds her empire from the shadows, a new threat emerges – one that could unravel everything she's fought to protect.

Prince Anderic Voltaire, once her greatest adversary, has finally met his match in the sharp-tongued lady. As assassination plots and betrayal surround them, their dangerous attraction deepens into something neither can deny.

When enemies from within and beyond the borders converge, Ilyana must choose between revealing her darkest secrets or watching history repeat itself. In a final confrontation that will determine the fate of Aetheria, can a former villainess truly become a heroine?

The gripping conclusion to Villainess's Redemption by Vanessa Rhoswen delivers a heart-pounding finale where love and ambition collide, and the fate of a kingdom hangs in the balance.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! It was soooooo satisfying. The conclusion picked up right where we left off and the tension was *chef's kiss*. The pacing was gorgeously handled. It was a book that felt like it could've been longer because I don't want to let these characters go. Ilyana and Anderic have such amazing chemistry, I hope Vanessa will write side stories so we can see more of them together. I will be rereading it some time in the future.

Here's the Afghan!

As the title of this post suggests, I am basically done with putting it together. I am just attaching the final strip. I haven't even finished and LB3 is trying to claim it as his. I planned to make it a "whoever is cold at the moment" type of thing so I am going to have to say no.

Here are the pictures I promised.

You can't see it too well by this is a strip of the squares. I opted to do 5x6 squares so that the blanket can, you know, blanket. Here is the picture of it all together.

I really enjoyed assembling it. I get a kick out of seeing something beautiful come from what seems like a bunch of scrap or throwaway projects. I hope you liked it too.

As always feel free to leave me a message below.
