I have just discovered her work and am loving her Chicago Stars/Bonner Brothers series. Being me, I screwed up the order I was supposed to read in. Below is a quick look at what I read in the order I read it. Try not to get too confused.
Nobody's Baby But Mine was a delight. We got a super smart professor who comes up with a really dumb idea. To keep her future child from being a genius like her, she needs a really stupid "donor". The quarterback of a local team seems an ideal choice. When everything backfires in her face, I tell you no lie, it gets intense.
Natural Born Charmer is about a down on her luck artist who befriends a quarterback on his way to check out his new property. With her help, he gets closer to his estranged parents and his half sister. He, on the other hand, helps her with her fear of commitment.
Dream A Little Dream is the sequel to Nobody's Baby But Mine. When the widow of a crooked local televangelist returns with her little boy, all she wants to do is find the money that her husband stole, return it and live off the little extra that may be left. But with the whole town against her, she has no where to turn except towards the owner of the old drive in theater. He, much against himself, is drawn to the brave widow despite protests from the town and his family.
First Star I See Tonight is about yet another quarterback, one who has retired and opened his own nightclub. He's anything but pleased when he discovers that he's being followed by a PI. Even worse, no matter how much he tries, she won't tell him who hired her. So, he hires her himself which turns out to be a good thing as a lot of crazy things keep happening.
This Heart of Mine is about (wait for it) a Quarterback (yet again) who find love with a children's writer. Their love/hate relationship shifts into one of the sweetest (and occasionally off the wall) stories I've read. He wants nothing to do with his boss's sister yet can't stay away. She knows falling for him is reckless but you only live once, right?
So there it is folks. I hope you get a chance to read one of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' works. I know you'll love it.
Hello everybody! This is the last volume (for now!) of this series. I hope you all have enjoyed it. There are so many videos to choose from but these were the ones that stood out to me. And now, without further ado...
1.Phyllisia Ross - ONLY FOR YOU
Oooh, Don't you want to see this Romantic Suspense? I know I do.
2. Train - Drive By
This would totally be one of those feel good RomComs I watch when life tries to get me down. I love the song too!
3. Taylor Swift - Mine
This is a B-video. It would have been a B-movie. That is all I am going to say. Enjoy.
4. Lady Antebellum - I Run To You
Layered film about how they all are connected and you don't find out til the end! Those are my favorites as you can probably tell by now. I love how they show the chain reaction of a single act. OMG, that would the name. A Single Act coming to a theater near you in..... never.
5. Maroon 5 - Animals
This is for all those who love creepy movies about stalkers. I added this for you. I get kinda creeped out . But, you know, if you like this, howl.
6. Miranda Lambert - The House That Built Me
I feel like there should be a movie set all around this one video. This is that pivotal scene where she goes back home to confront her ghosts of the past. It is just so unsatisfying.
7. Lady Antebellum - What If I Never Get Over You
This would be that movie full of flashbacks as Our main character is facing a huge life change post-breakup. I would have love more details and a dramatic end but we take what we can get, right?
8. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
All the irritating teen movies you made your parents suffer through are now coming back to haunt you. Yes, It is Taylor again. She's got a better video here than earlier.
9. Dan + Shay - From The Ground Up
Sweet and mildly sappy, I know you will love this video.
10. Maroon 5 - Don't Wanna Know
I apologize for the language at the end. But, is this not a comedy film in the making?
And that my friends concludes (for now) this series. I hope you have enjoyed it and feel free to leave a comment below.
Week 5, Folks! We gots the good stuffs. Enough talking, here are your mini-movies, I mean, music videos.
1.Ed Sheeran - South of the Border (feat. Camila Cabello & Cardi B)
This would've been the best, corniest crime/comedy of the summer if it had been movie. Sadly, we have to break the repeat button. The only issue I have is that Camila never gets a white dress.
2. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
All your favorite 80's teen movies condensed into this video. Enjoy!
3. Lady Antebellum - Just A Kiss
I always hope that they get reunited one day. Watch the video and you'll see what I mean.
4. Zara Larsson, MNEK - Never Forget You
This is a love story about imaginary friends and how they never really leave you. If only I could remember the names of mine...
5. Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone
Layered movie about how "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all". Tissues, anybody? 6. Maroon 5 - Cold ft. Future
Again, can't control the language. Doesn't this make you think The Hangover, home edition. 7. Miranda Lambert - Somethin' Bad ft. Carrie Underwood
This really should've been a movie. All I'm going to say. 8. Taylor Swift - Love Story
If Romeo and Juliet had a happy ending, it would've been like this song. Sappy yet entertaining. 9. Carrie Underwood - Just A Dream
Just cry, okay? You know you want to. Sad Hallmark movie, that is where this goes. 10. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
A Carrie Double Feature! This has Lifetime Movie Network written all over it. I hope you all enjoyed Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 5. Tune in next week for 6. Feel free to leave a comment below or not.
So it is time for Volume 4! These music videos ought to have been on the Big Screen, maybe.
1. Chris Lane - I Don't Know About You
This is the start of a Hallmark Rom-Com that even my brothers will watch.
2. Miranda Lambert - Mama's Broken Heart
Now, don't you wish you had some background to this epic breakdown?
3. Colbie Caillat - I Never Told You
I would love to see this as a layered plot line where everyone is connected somehow.
4. Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats
This would be the beginning, before Carrie fond someone worthy of her or not.
5. Taylor Swift - Everything Has Changed ft. Ed Sheeran
OMG, this is the cutest video so far. I feel like I'm watching a modern Flipped minus the back and forthing. 6. Maroon 5 - Maps
Again, can't control the language but just watch the video and you will totally get the mini-movie feel.
7. Sheppard - Geronimo
It's Cardboard Frankenstein meets Cardboard Les Mis. What's not to love?
8. Marshmello & Kane Brown - One Thing Right
Another episode in the life of Marshmello! This time he's not in school. Will he get the girl? Tune in next time. 9. Clean Bandit - Rockabye (feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie)
This would be one of those Lifetime movies about how a single mom worked hard to provide the best life possible to her son who went on to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. 10. Chris Lane - Take Back Home Girl ft. Tori Kelly
We started with Chris and we are ending with Chris. This would be one of those heartwarming films you play when you want to remind yourself that healthy relationships exist. Well y'all, that's it for this week. Tune in next week for Volume 5.
Here is Volume 3, folks! If you liked 1 and 2, I think you'll like 3.
1. Carrie Underwood - Little Toy Guns
This is yet another of my favorite videos. As a movie, this would probably be geared toward kids.
2.Lady Antebellum - Need You Now
What happened? Will they be reunited? Yes, this one needs to be a movie.
3.Daughtry - Waiting for Superman
Does anyone want background on this man who is just saving people all day long? I sure do.
4. Maroon 5 - Payphone (Explicit) ft. Wiz Khalifa
I can't help the language in the song but did you see this video?!?! 'Cause it is totally a mini movie that really needs a proper ending. Adam, will you please make one? 5. R. City ft. Adam Levine - Locked Away
Yes, Adam is back. Is it my fault he's gotten in some good videos? No, so leave your judgements at the door. This would make an incredible layered film about how they're all connected. 6. Chino y Nacho - Andas En Mi Cabeza ft. Daddy Yankee
I don't speak Spanish (remember what I said about judgements) but with a video this good you don't need to. Again, this would be an awesome layered film. 7. Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband
This would make a funny retro revival style film about looking for love. Like a funny Stepford Wives spoof. 8. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You
Cute, funny and 100% Mini Movie! Does Ed ever get off the floor? 9. Katy Perry - Part Of Me
This would be such a great film! She should totally make this as a legit movie. 10. Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello - Señorita
"And this kids, is the story of how your dad and I got together" that is how this film would start. This would get me inside a movie theater, maybe. There is always Redbox, Netflix, Hulu and so on. Still, I would watch it.
And this, Good people and bots of the internet, is Mini-Movie or Music Video Volume 3. Stay tuned for next weeks installment of my quirky series. Leave a comment or not.
So, I'm baaaaack! Here is Volume 2 of videos that really should've been a movie in my book. Enjoy!
1.Danielle Bradbery, Thomas Rhett - Goodbye Summer
Ahh, a tale of Summer love. So beautiful. I loved the end. Did you all see the end? Tissue, please? 2. Carrie Underwood - Last Name
So, consider this your "Do Not Get Drunk in Vegas" video. Just look at what happened. Bad stuff. But I do want to know what happened next.
3.Maroon 5 - One More Night
Am I the only one who feels the cinematic potential here? I don't know. 4.Taylor Swift - Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar
This would've been the cheesiest action flick. I would've loved it to pieces. 5.Marshmello - Blocks
Another episode in the life of Marshmello. Stay tuned next week.... 6.WALK THE MOON - Shut Up and Dance
Like an 80' teen movie, here we go. 7.MAGIC! - Rude
Don't you just love them? Loving the end.
8. Katastrofe - Sangen Du Hater
I speak absolutely no Norwegian but I really love the video.
9. Adele - Hello
Did you really think this wasn't going to be here? Shame on you.
10. Rascal Flatts - Come Wake Me Up
Yeah, pretty obvious why I included this on the list. Backstory, Please?!?! And what happens to the both of them? They leave you hanging and a little broken.
I hope you all enjoyed Volume 2. Next week is volume three, folks. As always you can leave a comment below or not.
Below is a list of Music videos I think are a credit to the script writers, the actors and directors. These songs are good but the videos just take it to the next level. I am not including songs that are great and could be a mini movie but have a very lame video. This is for the one who went the extra mile. And now, without further ado...
1. Lady Antebellum: HeartBreak
Tell me at the end of this video that you don't want to know what happens next!Tell ME!
2. Rascal Flatts: What hurts the Most
OMG, the pain in this song, those tears in her eyes... they did marvelous on this video.
3. Shawn Mendes: Treat you better
Yeah, no words for the greatness that is this video. Nope, none at all.
4. Rose Mazhontz: Begi
Yes, I know the song is all in Russian and No, I do not understand a word. But just watch the video and you don't need to know what she's saying. You just know what you're seeing.
5. Camila Cabello: Havana
Did you laugh and swoon, too? No, that was just me? Um,ok. This is now awkward.
6. Marshmello: Happier
I sobbed, like, literal tears after I saw this video. I'm sorry, I can't just now. I need a tissue.
7. Halsey: Without Me
That part at the end when she shows her hands.... I loved it. Mini-Movie!
8. Cee Lo Green: Forget you
Revenge of the Nerds, Cee Lo Style!
9. Carrie Underwood: Two Black Cadillacs
Oooh, me like. This is one of my favorite videos and songs. I know all the words. Why do so many of her songs feel like Lifetime Movies?
10. Dan + Shay: Tequila
And last but, most definitely, not least, Dan and Shay's work of film art. This video doesn't disappoint.
I hope you all enjoyed Volume 1 of Music Video or Mini-Movie?. Next week is Volume 2. If any disagreed with my choices, leave a comment below. If you liked them, feel most free to leave a comment below!
As some may or may not know, I was totally and completely psyched about Sophie Kinsella's Can you keep a secret? being turned into a movie. Can you keep a secret? was the first novel of hers that I read so I was expecting great things here.
First things first, these are the things I loved. The cast is awesome. Alexandra Daddario did great as our Emma.
Tyler Hoechlin plays Jack. Yes, folks. We get to stare at his face for over an hour. I am not complaining.
The Soundtrack was solid. Whoever was in charge of wardrobe needs to come into my life. And, they filmed in NYC, People!
The only problem here is the script. They cut out Emma's parents and cousin. While I get that they were trying to save time, I couldn't help feeling that they got rid of one of the key plot points. It's Emma's insecurities with her family that is one of her biggest secrets. Also we never see the company picnic. That Picnic is a major turning point in the novel. It's a shame they wrote that out.
All in all, I did enjoy this film and I will probably watch it a few hundred times. But, I just got to say it, Folks. The book was better.
